Localization (“l10n”) is the process of adapting a product or content to a specific locale or market. The aim of localization is to give a product the look and feel of having been created specifically for a target market, no matter their language, culture, or location.
Internationalization (‘I18N’) though having no single or universally accepted definition has been of great interest to nearly every company. From an economics point of view, it is defined as the process where business gets more involved in the international markets.
Globalization (‘G11n’) means the interconnection of national economies across the world on issues such as trade, investment, labor, banking and the movement of people, goods and services. That seems like a mouthful, but it basically boils down to governments increasingly allowing their citizens do business across borders.
